Earlimart Family Resource Center Open House
Visalia, CA – March 8, 2010 - The community of Earlimart will soon have a long awaited
resource open its doors. It is a Family Resource Center where residents can learn
about and receive services offered by local organizations. The Earlimart Family
Resource Center is housed in a converted movie theater located at 114 North Front
Street. The center will hold an Open House Wednesday, March 17th, 12:00-6:00pm,
with door prizes, appetizers and tours of the facility.
The Family Resource Center will offer accessible services and referrals so that families
can become self-sufficient and children can become successful students. The mission
of the center is to increase family success by providing a system of services that are
culturally sensitive, comprehensive and responsive to families’ unique needs.
Services will include Health Education, Early Mental Health Education, Family Services,
Family Case Management, Services for Families in Crisis, Parent Education and Skills
Training through the Families Improving Education Initiative, Gang Awareness and
Prevention Education, and Child Development. Additional services will include Practical
Services, Job Training, Energy Assistance, Food Stamp Application, Junior Youth
Leadership, Emergency Shelter Resources, Food, Clothing and Basic Needs.
The Family Resource Center is a joint effort between local government, non-profit, and
private companies who offer services to rural communities. The Earlimart Center is a
collaboration between CSET, the Earlimart School District, HHSA, Tulare Youth
Services Bureau, Earlimart Health Care, Family Services and numerous partners and
friends of the community of Earlimart.
