New basketball courts and an upcoming nature-based walking trail enhance Dinuba’s KC Vista Park

On Saturday, October 28, 2023, Community Services Employment Training (CSET), along with dedicated volunteers and partners, will join forces in communities across Tulare County to celebrate Make a Difference Day, the nation’s largest day of volunteering.

On Monday the City of Porterville began its Litter Abatement Pilot Project, a beautification project taking place along Highways 190 and 65.

The project is being done in collaboration with the Tulare County Association of Governments, California Department of Transportation, CalTrans, and Community Services Employment Training, CSET.  The Project will employ individuals experiencing homelessness work along Highway 65 and Highway 190 within the city of Porterville limits. Also included in the work are off ramps and other transportation public right of ways near the highways where litter accumulates. The increased litter abatement will accompany planned landscaping projects along the highways.

Community Services Employment Training will hold in-person job fair March 24 to hire for positions in its fiscal, workforce, energy and community initiatives

The council also approved a three-year program that provides $50,000 a year for three years, beginning this year, for a litter abatement program along Highways 65 and 190.

The launch of the Clean California Litter Removal Program took place, a moment that has been in the works since May.
