[Tulare County, CA ] - Walmart announced two awards totaling $1,000 to Community Services Employment Training (CSET) to support its #LEAD and #GROW programs for young people in Tulare County. The Walmart Giving grants were presented to CSET from two Visalia locations: Stores #5635 (Demaree) and #1826 (E. Noble). Through this contribution, young people in Tulare County will gain access to educational pathways, work experience, and leadership development activities.

CSET and its network of partners recognize the need to create strong programs and systems that break the cycle of poverty in Tulare County. More than 500 young people in Tulare County benefit yearly from CSET’s Youth Leadership programs; a significant percentage of participants are youth of color, youth in foster care, and of low-income backgrounds. The programs provide them with valuable leadership development, job readiness training, civic engagement experiences, college and career exploration pathways, as well as mentorship and networking opportunities. Leadership programs like #GROW and #LEAD are designed to prepare future local leaders by giving them the opportunity to engage with local professionals, participate in service learning community projects and visit college campuses and career sites.

Thank you to our partners at Walmart for this generous contribution to our community. More information about CSET’s Youth Leadership programs is available at www.cset.org/youth-development.
